Sephora US beauty and makeup haul! First impressions and experiences.

So the time has come to finally click on the order button on Sephora website! I have been gathering, adding and removing things from my basket for ages, and somehow I just took a plunge:)
Haha it sounds like such a life changing decision, which it's not but I just hesitated, that's it!

So anyways, after finally placing my order and getting confirmation email, I awaited my delivery. I have to say that it came within few days from the day I ordered, which I was really surprised about!

Ok, enough of my rumbles lets just see what I got in the box:))

So here is a little overview of everything that came in the package:D

Firstly I decided to invest in some skincare products and as I run out of my night cream I got the Korres wild rose and vitamin C brightening sleeping facial. I suffer from hyper pigmentation ( especially in pregnancy) so thought this cream would be a great idea. I also checked the reviews before buying it and most of them were great! All I can say is that after using the cream for about 2 weeks now not only the smell is gorgeous but I certainly see a difference in my skin!

Then I got a set of deluxe samples from the Sephora Skin Bender vol 1. I couldn't decide on just one full size product and thought this set came with lots of lovely products that were on my ''to try'' list for a while.
I am really excited  by getting another Korres overnight product and Josie Maran argan oil!

Next on my list were Bite beauty products! They certainly have created quite a stir in the beauty world! I love the fact that these are so dinky and a perfect size to try a product/ colours out. I got two lipstick duo in vivid and neutral. I absolutely love the texture and pigmentation on these! plus they are so perfect to throw into your handbag as they don't take much room and you get two colours in case you change your mind half way through the day:)

I also got these two Luster Matte Long-Wear Lip Colours by Sephora. As always I went with a more nude colour and the one that pops a little:) They are absolutely gorgeous and the staying power is amazing!

As if I haven't had enough lip products I simply had to get the new Lip Stain by Sephora in Fuchsia Concentrate. I haven't had a chance to play around with it too much but I adore the packaging which is a very thin and sleek test tube like case.

Last but not least of course is a ''spare of the moment'' purchase! A set of Bite beauty Deconstructed Rose lipgloss set. I bought it as I also wanted to try some lip glosses from Bite but also all the colours in the palette are ones that I would buy a full size of! All the colours are so wearable and pigmented and they also smell of roses which is gorgeous!
Even my husband complemented me on how nice my lips were every time I wear one of them. The size is very convenient as well as they are small. The only downside in my opinion is the fact that instead of names they have numbers, for whatever reason I prefer funky names, but hey you can't have everything;)

All in all I know the haul was pretty lip product heavy, but I am obsessed with lip stuff at the moment! I love the fact that it can transform your look so easily and you can change it according to your mood!

Hope you enjoyed it, please don't forget to watch my YT video as well:))

Zoeva brushes first impressions and review! Rose gold set and more!

Hi guys, so here I am again...still ''flat packed'' (read I haven't had my baby yet!) and I decided to share with you my thoughts on Zoeva company and the brushes they make.

I recently placed an order for the rose gold set (which is absolutely gorgeous!!!) and a couple of single brushes.

And here are these little beauties!

This is the Rose Gold set that consists of 8 brushes (5 for the face and 3 for the eyes). It also comes with a gorgeous faux leather pouch with inside zipped pocket and a dust bag!

The brushes are fantastic quality, they feel super soft. I love the handles as they feel nice and sturdy.

I used all of them already and I can honestly say I am in love!
I use powder brush on daily basis and it's a perfect size and density to pick up enough product yet not make you look cakey.
My second favourite brush is the foundation brush. It blends the foundation perfectly, doesn't leave any streaks and is perfect for everyday use.
The angled blush brush is another fantastic brush, soft enough with long bristles to pick up enough product but also blend it out perfectly! I have to say I love this brush more than my Real Techniques one.
The contour brush and concealer brush the set comes with I haven't used very much as I feel they are much too dense for my liking for their purpose. I really like more control over my brushes when it comes to contouring and concealer.

The three eye brushes the set comes with are fantastic! Soft definer brush and petit crease I use on daily basis to do my everyday eye make up and the wing liner brush I use mainly for my eyebrows with Anastasia's deep brow pomade and it works a treat!

These are the brushes I purchased mainly to compare to the Rose Gold set and see how the quality compares. I got a crease brush no 228 and face paint brush no 109. And yet again they are super soft and feel really nicely built.

The face paint brush is my new favourite contour brush. It reminds me of the Nars Ita brush (even though I haven't had a chance to try this one out)  but the built of it is quite similar in my opinion. I love how my Zoeva brush picks up just enough product and once you apply it to the hollows of your cheeks you might think you put too much on, but because the bristles are slightly longer and so soft it blends out all the product to a perfect finish! My contouring has been so much easier because of this brush! I can't rave about it enough, I absolutely love it!

The crease brush is great as well, it's something in between the ones you get in the rose gold set.

I already washed all of them once and I have to say they wash very well, dry very quickly and don't change their shape after being washed. All in all I am super happy with my purchase. I think the quality is there, the practicality of brushes you get in the set is great and the price comparing to other brush companies is unbeatable! The company is German but from what I know they ship worldwide and I paid flat fee of £7.50 for postage which I don't think is too much. Obviously it works out better if you place a bigger order. The brushes were packed in a box, nicely wrapped in a tissue paper and lots and lots of bubble wrap so they were safe and snug in there:)

Hong Kong and UK drugstore skincare and makeup haul & reviews!

I was super excited by the prospect of my husband having to go to Hong Kong for a business trip. We both missed him terribly, but I knew he would be able to pick up a few beauty bargains for me while away:)) I mainly wanted to focus on skincare as I know Asian brands are famous for it, plus not being there myself I just didn't know what other brands and colours are available.

So here is what my hubby got for me :)!

I was very excited to receive three boxes of My Beauty Diary face masks! They are sheet masks, 10 in each pack and I have them in aloe, black pearl and strawberry yoghurt. These were 58 HK$ in Sasa which is a real bargain!

Then I got Etude House wonder pore white clay clear mask as I heard so many good reviews about it, but haven't had a chance to try it out properly yet. I am not sure about the price of this one as some things didn't have price labels on them.

My heart was definitely stolen by the next mask my husband got for me. It's the Borghese Fango Active Mud Mask for face and body. It is available in the UK on Cult Beauty website but from what I've seen it's much cheaper over there as it cost 390 HK$ which is just above £30. I have used it a few times already and I can't get enough of it! Not only my skin feels hydrated and supple, but it looks clear and bright and feels deeply cleansed! I also love the smell which is slightly herby.

Then I caved in and asked my husband to pick up Shu Uemura eyelash curler, as it was much cheaper over there as well! He paid 98 HK$ which is just over £10 comparing to £20 in the UK. I have used it and I have to admit so far so good. It is much better than the previous eyelash curlers I had from my Glossybox.

Last but not least was a product by Etude House Lovely Cookie blusher in Peach Parfait.
I have to say when I was looking for things online it was mainly the packaging that has tempted me to put this one on my wanted list. I've noticed EH has one of the most beautiful and cute packaging! I already own a couple of their lipsticks and another blusher and I am in love!
The colour is gorgeous, perfect for those spring/ summer months. The colour payoff is not as intense as Sleek by any means but it's enough to give you a healthy peachy cheek:)

Then of course I couldn't say no to a quick trip to my local Boots and Superdrug to get my ''beauty fix'' and here is what I got!

They had an offer on all Revlon cosmetics, bogof so I decided to treat myself to another foundation in colour Shell as I haven't tried so many of them from this brand and two new nail polishes that are scented one in Ginger Melon and African Tea Rose. Of course the colours are very predictable and very me. And don't get me wrong, I've got plenty of nail polishes in these colours, but it's a weakness of mine, I am just a nail polish hoarder!

I also got a new mascara (again I don't need one!!) but it was brand new and had argan oil in it and this just sucked me in to buying it!

I needed a new powder brush as I really didn't have a proper big one like this and decided to go for Real Techniques one! I absolutely love it.

Of course a drugstore trip wouldn't be complete without popping in to Superdrug where I picked up a few interesting bits:))

First of all are Barry M nail polishes that have been recently released. I absolutely fell in love with the pastely springy colours! They also ventured into Gelly lip products which I just had to pick up and try out! I will keep you posted on these.

Then lucky enough Look Beauty was marked half price as I think they are no longer going to stock this brand. So I picked up some double hit lip products in Red Alert, Pink Punch and Berry Blast (from left to right). These are very interesting, not at all bulky but you get a lipstick and a corresponding lip gloss which I think is a nice idea. I also picked up a single lipstick in Petal Nude. It is very moisturising and soft on the lips, doesn't stay on awfully long but it doesn't claim to anyways. I really like the colour of it as well, the sticker at the bottom does definitely not give you the proper indication of colour. I think the packaging is a little bit too bulky and the magnetic closing is a little bit flimsy, so watch out for an open lipstick if you just throw it into your bag!
There is also a gorgeous rose goldy pink glitter nail polish hiding in the back, which looks absolutely stunning on the nail and stays put for a really decent amount of time so will be going back for some more of these to try out:)

The bottom swatch is of an exciting new product by 2true and it's their 8hr Power Lip lipglossy lipsticky thing in colour Natalie. They have about 5 or 6 shades and they are all super pigmented, in a form of a lipgloss but reminding me a lot of liquid lipsticks that are so popular with other brands now! I've got some of the new Milani lip intense lipglosses and they remind me of these as well, but haven't had a chance to compare.
Haven't tested it out yet but will be keeping you posted!

Next was a cheeky order from Topshop. A cream blush (not very typical for me) but I was tempted with the gorgeous colour and the fact it's cream so definitely looks more natural in the spring / summer. The blush is in colour Afternoon Tea. I also picked up two lip paints in reminisce and hibiscus. Just can't get enough of my lip products at the moment! I was tempted by Topshop nail varnishes as they look so juicy and beautiful + the packaging is cute, but just got the one in green to try the formula out. I've never had any of these in my collection!

Last but not least was a trip to a Mac counter and I just got two things. Single eyeshadow in expensive pink and a lipstick retro matte finish in flat out. I am in love with these two colours! And the lipstick stays on for EVER!!

You probably wonder now... what the hell is this?! But I have placed a cheeky order online from the US! I love Wet n Wild products as they are super affordable but of really good quality! I am also a huge Milani fan (such a shame this brand is not available in the UK:(  ) So I just couldn't resist buying two limited edition palettes by WnW in colours Walking the red carpet and Flirting at the after party. The names are AMAZING, shame I can't say the same about the pigmentation of the shadows, especially the top two. They are so light they are barely visible and comparing these palettes to the other ones I have from this brand the formula of the shadows is definitely not the same!

And lastly the most gorgeous blusher I've seen in a while Milani powder rose blush in Coral Cove. I love the embossing on it, it's a shame to touch it but I will definitely be dipping my brushes into it as I hate not using make up. Even the prettiest things have been made to be used and to be enjoyed. I read so many people buy makeup and collect it for its embossing, limited edition products etc and each to their own but my heart bleeds ( I know! How dramatic:)) when things just don't get used:/

Anyways the swatch of the blushed is above the WnW palettes!

Hope you enjoyed seeing my collective haul! Don't forget to check out my YT video as well and follow me through bloglovin:))

MUA Luxe Pretty Edgy stud eyeshadow palette review with swatches

Ok, my new years resolution is to make more use of my blog. Not only for beauty purposes but also to document our everyday life and the special moments that happen:) And I think this year there is going to be at least one very special moment, but I will talk about it in my next post!

Today I wanted to review for you a new eyeshadow palette from Make Up Academy Luxe.

It is pretty obvious I am talking about new MUA Pretty Edgy palette.

It's safe to say that I was won over by the packaging alone! It's gorgeous, it's edgy, it doesn't feel cheap or flimsy but it's not too bulky considering the studs...

The outer case is shiny so you can see finger marks quite easily however just one swipe of a wet wipe or tissue gets rid of all the mess which is a bonus if you like keeping your palettes nice and tidy:)

These are the names of the colours in the palette.
From left to right top to bottom:
Antique, Bow, Toile, Ruffle, Flounce, Lace
Sinful, Gothic, Wrath, Envy.

Those are the colours taken without flash in natural light.

Picture taken in natural sunlight.

Swatches of top row here are gorgeous. Picture taken in natural sunlight. They are subtle and shimmery with great array of colours from very light through neutral to more browney ones.

The bottom row is all matt, and yet again the colour combo in here is fantastic! Sinful is a perfect colour for blending the crease, very subtle and skin like and the rest of colours are fantastic to accent the outer corner of the eye. Can I also add that I am super impressed by MUA for coming up with such pigmented matt eyeshadows! Picture taken in natural sunlight.

All in all the quality of the eyeshadows is great, considering the price. I love all the shimmery colours and I am very impressed by the matts in this palette. Most of the shades are nice to work with. You might experience a little bit of fallout on some of the eyeshadows but you come across this in higher end palettes as well so it's not a huge problem.

The variety of colours is perfect for everyday use but also you can create a stunning evening look with those. I absolutely love the packaging and did I mention it has a huge mirror inside which is a huge plus especially if you want to take a palette with you when you are travelling!
I found myself using this palette on everyday basis for the last couple of weeks so for me it's an absolute must have!

I bought it for £8 on MUA website as my local Superdrug doesn't have it in stock.
